Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens puts ‘some meat’ on Good Food Month


The Mercure
Hunter Valley Gardens
is celebrating the Hunter Food & Wine Month
throughout June, with a series of wine indulgences that celebrate the best
Hunter wines and quality regional produce. The Mercure has a special midweek
Fireside Indulgence Package that is perfect for romantics, offering a
three-course fine-dining experience in the privacy of your own suite at a
fireside table for two plus overnight accommodation and full buffet breakfast
from just $399 per night.


June, the hotel’s Executive Chef Jean Marc Pollet will also offer a unique
Steak and Shiraz matching experience for just $15 per person (free if dining in
the hotel’s Steakhouse restaurant afterwards) from 5pm every evening which
offers samples of Hunter Valley steaks accompanied by the perfectly matched
Hunter Valley Shiraz, with participants encouraged to find the best match. Chef
Pollet is famous for using only the highest quality local grain and pasture-fed
beef and has been instrumental in pioneering the region as a food and wine


Good Food
Month festivities continue at the adjacent Hunter Valley Gardens on Saturday 12th
– Monday 14th June, with a series of events that celebrate fine
food, exquisite wines, exotic tastes, deluxe merchandise and inspiring music.
Visiting celebrity chefs including Tobie Puttock (of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen)
and Janelle Bloom (Ready, Steady Cook) will present cooking demonstrations
while an ‘Eat Street’ will be set up with a range of Hunter restaurants
presenting their signature dishes. There will also be musical flavours from
around the world on the Eat to the Beat concert stage, seminars on everything
from cheese and wine to growing your own fresh produce and lots of
entertainment for the whole family including a jumping castle, face painting,
clowns, music and live kids shows as well as a chance for the children to get their
hands dirty in the Kids in the Kitchen marquee.


All up, this
is an event not to be missed and with the Mercure just a few footsteps away
